If you have ever been curious about some of the more non-traditional methods of smoking, then you’ve come to the right place. While we provide an endless supply of water pipes, bongs, dab rigs, and accessories that fit all designs and styles, you might be a veteran smoker who is interested in something a little more extreme. If you want your whole smoking session to be defined by one hit, then you might be interested in learning more about the epic gravity bong.
You may have already seen a gravity bong without even knowing it since they go by many names: the grav, the bucket bong, the one-hitter quitter, the waterfall bong…the list goes on. Once you identify a gravity bong as such, you can start to experience the whirlwind of benefits that come from this unique method of smoking.
Essentially, a gravity bong is a sort of DIY type of bong that can be made in a variety of different ways, offering an affordable yet immensely powerful method of smoking herbs. All you need for a gravity bong is a container of water and a method of pressure that pushes the water-enhanced smoke directly into your lungs. This makes for a greatly enhanced hit, offering more potent results when compared to glass pipes and traditional bongs.
There are many ways that this can be achieved, so we will run through some of the most popular options in this article.
Gravity bongs are often created in a much larger container than other types of bongs, meaning you can get a lot more smoke per hit than usual. This already creates a much more potent smoking experience, often amplifying the soothing effects of the herb even more than usual. What’s more, the vacuum created by the pressure will put smoke into the lungs a lot faster, and more powerfully, than a typical smoking experience, making this an extreme way to get the most out of each bowl.
For this reason, gravity bongs are typically recommended for people who have a lot of experience with bowls, pipes, bongs, and other smoking devices. This makes for one of the best gifts for people who smoke as it can be made by hand or purchased online for quick delivery and an even quicker smoking experience!
It’s all in the name. Gravity bongs use nature’s most powerful law - gravity - to create a powerful smoke. While gravity bongs come in a variety of different shapes and sizes, they typically consist of two different chambers so they can effectively work. The first chamber is a large container, usually a cut-off water bottle or an open glass jar. This chamber will hold the water, which can be either hot or cold (although we recommend ice-cold water for the best use).
The second chamber is smaller and usually consists of something that is small enough to be submerged in the larger container. This can be a smaller bottom or a container with a bowl on top and an open bottom that can go into the water. Once the herb is lit, the bowl can be slowly pulled out of the water while the vacuum creates a bottle of pressure-induced smoke.
Once it’s all filled up, simply inhale the smoke and let it fill your lungs. The result will be a powerful experience you aren’t going to forget anytime soon.
The promise of a more potent smoke is already a good enough reason to get your hands on a unique gravity bong, or you can try your hand at making a grav all by yourself. No matter what you choose, you can benefit from many different perks that can only come from this unique smoking method:
Using any type of glass piece will provide you with a nice smoking session at any time and any place, but if you are a regular smoker, then you are going to want to find ways to maximize your smoking efficiency. You likely don’t have an endless supply of herbs or tobacco, so it might be useful to know that a gravity bong takes up way less product per hit. Just a small amount can go a long way, prolonging your stash and making each puff way more effective than the last.
In addition to needing way less herb when you pack a gravity bong, you also have so much more to share with your friends. With a huge chamber filling up entirely with smoke, this brings the potency of each ingredient to the next stage of power, giving everyone who takes a hit a chance to experience smoking like never before. This is one of the most fun and effective ways to share a smoking sesh with friends.
Our experts do not recommend inhaling the smoke directly from the top of the chamber; rather, you can get a more potent effect by inhaling smoke from a few inches away. While this may seem to waste smoke, it absolutely doesn’t!
And if you want to be extra sure that you won’t let any of that precious smoke fade into thin air, you can use a silicone or glass mouthpiece. This piece acts as an extra filter, getting rid of resin, tar, and other unhealthy ingredients so that they don’t hit your lungs. Additionally, the mouthpiece gives you a clean chamber that the smoke can more easily travel through to reach your mouth.
There are plenty of gravity bongs for sale at your local head shop, or online with your favorite glass experts, so you will never run out of ways to obtain one of these unique pieces. However, a lot of people need something to smoke out of on the fly, so they end up making their own gravity bongs. DIY gravity bongs are easy and cheap to make, as they can be constructed with items you would normally find around the house.
Since you can make them at home for next to nothing, gravity bongs are certainly the cheapest way to enhance your smoking experience on the fly. In fact, you don’t even need to make a purchase or take a trip to the bank when you figure out how to make a gravity bong at home. Even if you decide to purchase a ready-made bong online, you will end up saving a lot of money in the long run because these pieces work so well.
While our Thick Ass Glass pros will always encourage you to shop online for the best water pipes and bongs, you can always fashion your own gravity bong when you are stuck at home without anything to smoke out of. Instead of waiting for your purchase to be delivered to your front door, you can keep that front door closed and go looking around the house for items to make your own gravity bong with.
Before we talk about the best ways to make one from scratch, let’s quickly review some of the biggest pros and cons of making a DIY gravity bong at home.
Depending on the type of market you are in, and how desperate you are to start a smoking session right away, making a DIY gravity bong from scratch might be a good direction for you to start with. Whether or not you have ever made your own gravity bong from scratch before, here are a few simple instructions to get you started.
The beauty of gravity bongs is that they come in a variety of designs and can be made from an assortment of items that you are almost certain to have lying around at home already. This is a great way to learn about the effects of water pressure and how easy it is to enjoy smoking all on your own.
Some items you will need to make a gravity bong include:
Once you have gathered the right items, you can start the very easy process of making your own bong. Remember to trust the process, and don’t forget that the results are about increasing your smoking experience rather than creating the most beautiful bong in the world.
Using a box cutter or scissors, cut off the bottom of the plastic bottles. Make sure the hole is big enough for water to enter the bottle once it is submerged, and make sure there is enough space for smoke to fill up the entire bottle on the inside.
The larger bottle should be cut off at the top so the smaller bottle can fit inside it.
The bigger bottle or bucket should be filled with water. Again, we recommend ice water, but any sort of clean water will do. There should be enough water that the bottle can be submerged but it does not need to fully fill up the second chamber.
The third step is often the part that smokers find to be the most fun: creating the bowl! You can use a sharp stick to poke a hole in the cap of the smaller bottle. Then you can put your own glass bowl inside of it! If you don’t have your own bowl already, then you can create one out of aluminum foil. All you need to do is wrap your lid with aluminum foil and poke some holes in it for ventilation.
Once you have either placed the bowl on top or created your own bowl out of tin foil, you can start to grind up your herb. Stuff your tobacco into the top bowl and make sure it is not touching the water. Underneath the herb should be an empty chamber that will fill up with smoke as soon as the herb is lit.
You’ve done it - you’ve officially created your own gravity bong! Not only is this a great way to create a smoking device on the fly, but it also happens to be one of the best ways to get a more potent smoking experience than usual. If you are ready to see what gravity bongs are all about, then all you need to do is follow these quick steps.
Thick Ass Glass offers a fantastic selection of pipes, bowls, and bongs for everyone from the first-timer to the seasoned smoker. Whether or not you have used a gravity bong before, you are sure to amplify your experience with just a single hit. You can easily make one at home or buy one of our ready-made gravity bongs so you can share the love in a whole new way. Learn more about gravity bongs at Thick Ass Glass today!
]]>One of the benefits of butane is that it makes for a steadier burn, but also one that is much more effective. For a fast and silky smoking experience, using butane to refill your torch lighters is a good idea. Not to mention, butane produces a lot more energy than propane while burning the same amount of fuel, making it highly energy-efficient.
Most butane lighter options are delivered and sold without any butane fuel in them, though, so it’s important to know how to fill a butane lighter the right way. Today we are going to give you our top 6 tips on how to fill a butane lighter the right way. Browse our selection of high-end butane lighters to enhance your next session immediately.
The first step in refilling a butane lighter is to look for the refill nozzle. It is typically located at the bottom or the side of the lighter, next to the flame adjustment wheel. This special screw can be turned to adjust the height of the flame, giving you a smaller or bigger burn depending on the bowl or pipe you are using.
The refill nozzle is located right next to the height adjuster. As a safety measure, you will want to turn the flame down to the lowest setting before opening up the nozzle to refuel the lighter.
Refilling a butane lighter often comes with the task of emptying any leftover liquid that may have been left behind. While this might not be a necessary step for brand-new lighters purchased in our head shop online, as they are delivered completely empty, it is a good idea to do this when refilling your lighter for a second or third time.
You want the best quality butane for your lighter, so it’s okay to shop around a bit before making your final choice. You can browse online availability for butane lighter refills or you can search your local store for the right fuel to use. It is a good idea to invest in butane of a high caliber, such as the Colibri or Xikar brands, which guarantee a longer and faster burn. Cheap butane can muddy your lighter’s inner mechanisms and give you a less pleasant smoking experience.
Refilling your butane lighter is as easy as turning the lighter upside-down - literally! By holding the lighter in the opposite direction than you normally would when using it, you can easily access the refueling nozzle at the bottom of the device. You also need to make sure to avoid letting extra air get into the lighter, as this can seriously damage your lighter’s ability to work.
Remember to shake the butane before you put it into the nozzle. Push the stem into the refill valve, which should be facing straight upwards. Let the gas come out in short bursts (holding for 5 seconds or less) until the cavity is completely filled. Leaking or hissing gas should result in the immediate ceasing of activities and you should throw the lighter away.
As soon as butane is released from its can, it turns cold. You should give your lighter a few moments to adjust to this changing temperature. You shouldn’t use it while it is in such a cool state, as it hampers its ability to produce steady heat. It only takes a couple of minutes for your lighter to fully warm up, so you don’t need to wait for too long before you start to experience a whole new level of smoking.
Knowing how to refill a butane lighter will give you much better peace of mind when you get your hands on these exclusive and fancy devices yourself. Being able to refuel your lighter whenever you want, without having to go through an expensive or complicated replacement process, is the key to enjoying your next hangout session with your bong.
The last step you need to take is to readjust the flame height adjuster screw, which can typically be turned with a wheel or a screwdriver. Once the flame has reached the desired height, you are good to go and you can start smoking as much as you want!
Ready to take your smoking experience to the next level? Regular lighters just won’t cut it when you are trying to get an impressive amount of smoke. Now you can share the love with all your friends when you get your hands on our powerful yet portable options like the Vector Hyper Torch. Some claim that the perfect dab temp is low, to prevent too much product from burning. Others swear up and down by high-temp dabbing, saying it offers the most potent experience. Today, Thick Ass Glass pros are going to highlight 7 facts about the best temp for dabs and dab rigs. Keep reading to see what we’ve discovered!
Those who use their dab rigs at a low temperature prioritize flavor over potency. Cooler nails tend to preserve flavors better, burning them slower but over longer periods of time. Low-range dab temperatures fall between 400 and 500 degrees Fahrenheit, which is low compared to how some rigs are set up.
Some may argue that lower temperatures tend to waste more of the concentrate, leaving you with more excess oil that could have otherwise been used to smoke with.
As a standard mid-range method, most dabs operate around 500 - 545 degrees Fahrenheit. And many casual smokers (and seasoned dabbers alike) keep their temperatures around this range to quickly melt the wax, rosin, and other concentrates without requiring too much heat.
A good rule of thumb is that products that are less processed don’t require as much heat but might leave behind more residue.
Those looking for the hottest of the hot will likely be heating their dab rigs at temperatures of 570 - 600 degrees Fahrenheit or even higher. For the most part, only certain products need to be heated at temperatures this high. Some herbs must be decarboxylated to have a pleasant smoking experience, achieved at high temperatures.
Those who burn at high temperatures will swear up and down that up to 600 degrees is the perfect dab temp, but it depends on the product. If you need to convert chemicals, you might need to burn at higher temps. Otherwise, a slower or cooler burn might give you more satisfaction.
Have you ever heard of cold starting? This is an effective method that some people like to use to get the most out of every single ounce of concentrate. Cold-start dabbing involves loading up the nail with the product before heating it, rather than adding it after the nail is hot. This preserves the chemicals and ingredients you want to savor so much while you smoke.
No matter what kind of product you use, natural plant ones create something cold terpenes. Terpenes are what give your product the smell, flavor, and efficacy that they have throughout your smoking experience. Depending on the type of terpene you are adding to the nail, it might vaporize at a specific temperature. That is why the best temp for dabs is so objective, as it is really a matter of what you are smoking in the first place.
An e-nail is a bit different from a traditional dab rig as it does not need to be manually heated up. This also means that the heating method is different, so some of your products can burn differently. It is a good idea to read whatever documentation comes along with your e-nail. In general, temperatures for dab rigs can range between 400 and all the way up to 800 degrees Fahrenheit. If you want a more potent smoke, hike up the temp. If you’re all about the flavor, keep it cool.
Some of our customers will conclude that lower temperatures and higher terpenes make for the perfect dab rig setup. However, your particular type of concentrate might merit a different temperature in order to achieve the ideal amount of vapor. You can experiment with different temperatures until you have reached a setup that feels right for you. Your dab rig is your own, so our TAG pros say it’s always OK to experiment until you find the best dab temps.
Do you own a dab rig but you are missing the right accessory to complete your kit? Are you not sure what temperature you should start heating your nail at? The best advice we can give is to just go for it! At Thick Ass Glass, we offer a wide range of products and tools to help you find satisfaction along your smoking journey. If you have additional questions about dab rig temps, feel free to reach out to us at any time!
]]>You may have looked online for the answers to these questions without finding any real solution. Today, our Thick Ass Glass experts will break down the pipe vs. bong argument to help you decide which to choose and how to clean your pipes and bongs. Many folks enjoy our selection of hand pipes due to their versatility and portability, making them an easy choice for smokers who are constantly on the go.
Pipes might also be referred to as dry bongs, which are unique glass pieces meant to amplify your smoking experience. While dry bongs do not require water as regular bongs do, they act as large pipes that can help beginners transition from pipe to bong without consulting the experts.

That is why we aim to offer the biggest selection of pipes, bongs, and water pipes available to be shipped to your doorstep immediately.
You might have heard of bongs, also referred to as glass bongs or even as water pipes. If you are wondering what the difference is between bongs vs. water pipes, the answer is simple. Water pipes refer to specific types of bongs that use water in them. In fact, this is the main feature that sets bongs apart from other types of smoking equipment. They use water to filter the smoke and enhance its effects on your body.
Using a unique filtration system, bongs simultaneously filter the smoke to create better vapors while strengthening the efficacy of the substance you are smoking. For this reason, bongs are a popular option at parties and in groups. They are usually big enough to pass around, making them the perfect choice for homeowners who want to turn their pad into the ultimate smoking destination.
Depending on your needs and experience levels, you can decide what smoking accessory would work best for you. Why are some bongs available with a downstem, while others are completely stemless? What is a downstem and why does it matter? How can you get the smoothest smoking experience from start to finish with your custom glass piece? If you want to know the answers to these questions and learn even more about choosing the right kind of glassware for you, then you’ve come to the right place.
Check out the major differences and pros and cons of downstem vs. stemless glass bowls to find out what kind of piece will fit best with your one-of-a-kind collection.
Stems are one of the most iconic features of a classic bong. Acting as the catalyst between the bong water and your herb bowl, a downstem activates water in the chamber to help you achieve a next-level smoking experience.
A downstem bong is a particularly useful choice for glass collectors who prefer bowls without carbs, which are holes that allow for smoke filtration. Most veteran bong users are used to lifting the tobacco bowl completely out of the downstem to achieve a full inhale. Not every downstem requires the full removal of the bowl during the smoking process, but it should be expected.
Since all types of glass pieces technically have “stems,” then what exactly is a stemless bong? Simply put, a stemless bong is a pipe that already has the stem built into it. The stem can be seen on the inside but is not completely removable like a traditional downstem. Most of them are similar in size and shape but can offer plenty of variety for even the most seasoned glass user. Depending on the type of smoking experience you want to achieve, you may end up favoring a stemless bong over its more common downstem counterpart.
Stemless bongs offer a unique advantage in that everything is built right into the glass, often giving you more bang for your buck. Some heavy-duty downstem bongs require clips and other extra accessories to ensure everything is properly held in place. This is also done to make sure the downstem does not fall out when pulling out the bowl.
No matter if you are early or late to the water pipe game, there is a product made especially for your preferred smoking habits. We offer a huge selection of glass bongs and water pipes, which include added accessories to boost the bong experience. Our sturdy downstems are reinforced with clips that make it easy to slide the bowl in and out, causing zero interruptions to the smoking process.
Stemless bongs are also available for those looking for a more built-in experience. These fixed stems percolate water on the inside, filtering it and building up its power before delivering smooth smoke directly to your lips. If you already have a bong, but you are in the market for a new downstem, our pros have got you covered. We offer an incredible inventory of downstems, bowls, slides, reclaim catchers, and anything else you might need when trying to enjoy some downtime.
Have you figured out what kind of bong best suits your fancy? Do you want a stem that sticks out, or one that stays in place on the inside? Think about your cleaning methods, your available materials, and how often you plan on using your new pipe. All of these thoughts can help you choose the perfect piece for you. The type of hobbyist you are will determine what kind of bong is ultimately the right choice.
Still need help? We got you covered! In order to truly understand how awesome diffuser beads are for enhancing your smoking experience, we need to get a little scientific for a moment and talk about the process of diffusion. Diffusion occurs when smoke or vapor moves from a high-concentration area to a low-concentration area. This usually means moving something from extreme heat to extreme cold in an instant, which diffuses the product.
The diffusion process disperses the smoke and cools it down so that it is smooth and pleasant as it travels through your mouth. One example of diffusion might be the act of pouring cold milk into hot tea, which diffuses the tea and gives the hot steam a much larger surface area to work with. This same theory also applies to smoking out of a bong; without a diffuser, the smoke may burn your throat and lungs too much while also leaving ashy residue.
Glass collectors, ambitious smokers, and everyone in between can all benefit from owning a piece of glassware that has the diffusion process built into it. Whether you are a fan of bongs and water pipes or you are looking for some smaller bubblers to complete your collection, you can easily add the process of diffusion to your smoking experience with diffuser beads.
If your glass piece does not have a built-in diffusion process, don’t worry! That is exactly what diffuser beads are for. Made up of small, non-toxic plastic balls, diffuser beads can be poured into the bottom of any bowl or bong to transform each hit into a smooth smoke. While they are not frozen like ice cubes, diffuser beads still offer plenty of cooling capabilities to the water in your piece, significantly cooling off the smoke when it hits your mouth. Smoking enthusiasts love bong diffusers for a number of different reasons, so let’s take a look at some of the most stellar benefits!
Obviously, diffusion is the biggest benefit to be earned by adding diffuser beads to your bong. However, there are plenty of other advantages to be enjoyed as well. Some of the best benefits of diffuser beads include:
Overall, diffuser beads make each hit longer and more potent, which is why a lot of our avid fans love to add them to their bongs. If you are looking for that extra touch of strength in your smoke, then you need to get on board with the process of diffusion.
Getting started with these must-have smoking accessories is super easy. Depending on the type of water pipe you have, you may be able to start pouring the beads into your bowl directly from the top of the tube. You can add as many or as few as you’d like, although we recommend pouring them in gradually so you can experiment and find out exactly where the sweet spot is. Once they are in, you are ready to start smoking! You will immediately notice how each of your hits is longer, more powerful, and smoother, giving your throat a nice break.
If your bong has a bent neck or is designed in a unique shape, it might be a little more difficult to add the balls without an ice pinch. An ice pinch or a miniature set of tongs could be small enough to reach into the stem and drop off the balls directly to the bottom, making sure they get into the right spot. If you are having trouble getting the bong diffusers into your bong, our experts would be eager to help you out.
Let Thick Ass Glass be your ultimate online head shop for any and all things glass. From bong maintenance to smoking enhancement, we carry a huge selection of accessories to amplify and prolong each puff of smoke. Enjoy the smoking experience like never before when you level up your bong with diffuser beads. Multi-colored and glow-in-the-dark beads are available to add a unique aesthetic to your piece, making it the talk of the town in no time.
We don’t just want you to have a good smoking experience - we want you to have the best one. You can push your glass game to the next level when you add a selection of unique enhancers to boost your bong like never before.

A 'Natural' tag on rolling papers doesn't mean healthy. Manufacturers use different chemicals to control the rolling paper characteristics. The characteristics could include color and burn rate. Not all chemicals used are safe for you. It is critical to check the ingredients of each rolling paper you buy. The list below shows ingredients you may want to avoid when buying healthy rolling papers.

The EPA states that indoor air is up to five times more polluted than outside, but there are ways you can bring the outdoors in. Letting new freshness into your home helps remove pollutants like smoke and soot, which might otherwise accumulate over time.
Inspecting your home for ash and soot is the first step to detecting any lingering smoke smells. FEMA suggests sweeping upholstery outside, cleaning rugs, or replacing them if they are dirty enough to release particles into the air while also wiping down walls and counters in order to rid the household of these pollutants, which will continue causing problems by circulating smoke through ventilation systems.
There are a few reasons why you might want to get rid of the smell of smoke from indoors. Maybe you've just moved into a new home, and the previous owner smoked, or maybe you're hosting a party and don't want your guests to think you're a smoker.
Whatever the reason, there are definitely ways to get rid of that smoky smell. One way is to use an air purifier. Another is to open all the windows and doors for a while to let in some fresh air. You can also try using a deodorizer or an odor eliminator.
The best way to get rid of smoke smells in the short term is by performing common household tasks like dusting, washing, and disinfecting surfaces with mild soap or cleaning products. This will help remove any lingering odors that may be present on your property before they have time to settle back into their old spots again!
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) reports that it's also a good idea to have any heating, air-conditioning units, ductwork, and ventilation systems professionally cleaned. This will remove any smoke smell and soot that may have built up over time. It's also worth getting new filters to keep these running smoothly and smoke smell free!
When it comes to keeping your smoking equipment clean, you can do a few key things to help ensure that everything stays in good shape. If you're unsure about how best to care for specific items, there are some great resources online to help you out. First and foremost, it's essential to always use fresh water when cleaning any of your pipes or other smoking gear. This will help remove any residue build-up that can occur over time. You can also use a mild soap if needed, but be sure to rinse everything thoroughly afterward.
Second, invest in some quality cleaning products designed specifically for smoking equipment. There are several options out there, so find one that works best for you and your budget. Regularly cleaning your water pipes, bongs, and other gear will help prevent build-up and keep them looking like new. Finally, be sure to store your smoking equipment in a cool, dry place when not in use.
If you're a smoker, it's essential to be proactive in cleaning your equipment and your home. Not only will this protect your health, but it will also help keep the smell of smoke from permeating everything in your house. We hope this article has helped outline some basic tips on how to get rid of smoke smell. Water is used in bongs and waterpipes because it cools the smoke as it passes through the water. This makes the smoke less harsh on your lungs and results in a smoother smoking experience. Bong water is without a doubt an integral part of every bong.
As everyone knows, bong water is essential for the perfect smoking experience. But it's always fun to mix things up from time to time! Here are the top 10 alternative bong waters:
One of the simplest ways to create a new experience is to infuse your bong water. You can try adding fruit, mint, or herbs to your bong water for a smoother and more flavorful hit. The best way to flavor your bong water is to add it slowly in a jug of cold water and let the mixture sit for 3-5 hours before smoking.
Many users swear by ice water for a better smoking experience. This is because the addition of ice cubes helps to cool the smoke while filtering it. At the same time, this will also enhance some of the flavors. To try this alternative for bong water, you can fill a jug with water and ice, put it in the fridge for a while, and then add it to the chamber of your bong to enjoy the smooth hits.
Want a new feeling to the hits from your bong? Then you need to try adding sparkling water to the bong, as it will provide a unique experience. You can enjoy a cool, fizzy feeling when smoking by adding carbonated water to your bong. Use whichever type of sparkling water you prefer. You can even try flavored or add some ice along with the fizz for a new hit.
Putting tea in your bong can give you a rich and subtle profile that enhances the flavor of your smoke. Just remember, it's not recommended to use hot liquids in acrylic bongs as it may create fumes. Other people enjoy their tea iced rather than hot and put it in bongs to make smoking smoother.
Another best bong water alternative is to use fruit juice instead of bong water to add flavor! Try apple, orange – or even go wild with some cherry! You can juice fruit yourself and put it in your bong to give the smoke a new flavor without the additives, or simply buy your favorite.
Gatorade can be used as an alternative bong water, and it adds an extra kick of flavor to every hit while not being too overpowering. Simply use your favorite flavor of Gatorade to fill the base of a bong instead of water. It's worth noting that as Gatorade is a very sweet drink, it's suggested you clean your bong after use.
High-alcohol content beverages should not be put in a bong because it can lead to serious health problems and create dangerous scenarios. Using wine, however, is a happy medium if you fancy trying an alternative to bong water with more of a kick! There are a few different wines to buy for ripping bongs, but the most popular ones are medium-bodied reds.
One way to make bong hits smoother is to use snow or crushed ice. If you do try smoking through snow or ice, be sure to add a small amount of water to the mixture to make it easier to pull the smoke through the bowl.
In general, cranberry juice is an excellent addition to any smoke session. It has the natural qualities of bitterness as well as adding tartness. The high acidity of the juice can actually help keep your bong clean and don't forget, it's packed with vitamin C! Freshly pressed cranberry juice is always best; however, even store-bought has benefits.
Another option is to add a light infusion to your bong water with essential oils. Some favorites include mint, citrus, and ginger. No essential oils around? You can also infuse your water by adding these foods to a jug of water, then keep it cool in the fridge for a few hours. Then take it out to experience a fresh, smooth hit with your new bong water infusion!
Bong water is essential for a smooth smoking experience. Not only is changing to alternative bong water often an exciting option for enjoying your smoke, but it also offers new ways to have a good smoking experience. You can try fruit juices for a sweeter flavor or iced water for a cooler, smoother hit. But remember, not all liquids are a good idea!
There are many different types of bong water alternatives available on the market today. Some work better than others, but it ultimately depends on your personal preference. ]]>A nectar collector is a concentrate vaporizer that uses a small, pointed tip to touch the surface of a concentrate and instantly vaporize it. Nectar collectors are designed for use with concentrates that have been purged of all plant matter, so they're perfect for enjoying the purest vapor.
This product is easy to use and can be operated by beginners. All nectar collectors must contain water-based filtration systems to filter out impurities and cool vapors. All you need to do is place concentrates in a glass or quartz dish and then fill the straw with water before heating it with the blow torch.
Dabbing is the process of inhaling vaporized extracts by way of a "tipped" nectar collector. A nectar collector is much more efficient if the end of it is heated with a torch, but care should be taken when heating to make sure that the tip does not become too hot. If you are using wax or oil, make sure it is sitting on a heat-resistant surface. You should choose silicone or glass to withstand high temperatures.
With the best nectar collectors, you will be able to extract every last bit of oil or wax from your plant concentrate without it getting stuck in the container. For the best performance, a quality nectar collector is recommended.
There are a few advantages to using a nectar collector. First, it's a very efficient way to consume concentrates. Second, it's an easy way to get the most out of your concentrates because you can directly inhale the vapor from the extract. Third, it provides a more intense experience when compared to other methods. Finally, it's a lot of fun to use!
There are a few different types of nectar collectors that work well. One option is a traditional glass nectar collector with a long metal stem. This type of nectar collector is easy to use and clean, and the metal stem helps to keep the heat from your hands away from the concentrate.
Another option is a ceramic nectar collector. These tend to be a bit heavier than glass collectors, but they retain heat better and can be used with hotter temperatures. Some people also prefer the feel of ceramic over glass. Finally, plastic nectar collectors are becoming more popular due to their low price point. They don't retain heat as well as glass or ceramic collectors, but they are still quite popular.
It can be hard to find a good quality glass nectar collector that's affordable and easy to use. Glass water pipes have been around for years, but they always seem to come with a trade-off. They're either too small and don't hit well or huge and bulky. When looking for the best nectar collector, you want quality, durability, and a good hit every time.
Thick Ass Glass is the perfect solution for any smoker. Our glass nectar collectors are made of high-quality materials and are designed for ease of use.
Now that you've learned what a nectar collector is, you're probably interested in purchasing one. If you're looking for an efficient and easy way to enjoy your concentrates, a nectar collector is the best option. Nectar collectors are quickly becoming one of the most popular ways to consume concentrates, and for a good reason – they offer a host of advantages over other methods. From their ease of use to the great flavor they provide, there are plenty of reasons to give a nectar collector a try. And now that you’ve read our article, you even know how to use a nectar collector. So, if you're ready to see what all the fuss is about, check out our selection of Thick Ass Glass nectar collectors today!
]]>Keeping your stash in an airtight glass stash jar will protect it so that it's just as fresh and potent the next time you go to use it. So, what does a container need to provide to do its job correctly? In this post, we'll look at what you need to protect your weed from and how airtight glass stash jars can help.
There are several benefits of using an airtight stash jar. It helps to keep your buds fresh and potent for longer, prevents odor from spreading and keeps your cannabis discreet. Finally, it helps prevent mold and bacteria from growing on your buds. So, how does a stash jar help control these damaging environmental variables?
Limiting light exposure
When talking about light exposure, the type of light that causes damage is Ultraviolet (UV) light. The primary source of this is (obviously) the sun. However, there are still levels of UV light in other light sources, such as a Compact Fluorescent Lamp (CFL) bulb. It's good to try and limit the amount of light exposure your weed has, as the UV light will break down the THC in your stash.
Keeping your container airtight is about more than stopping your weed from drying out. When the air gets access to your weed, it can bring other unwanted visitors with it. This includes mold spores, chemical contaminants or dust. Therefore, suitable containers will have an airtight seal, keeping the air out and retaining potent smells.
Getting the humidity and temperature right for your stash is a little like the Goldilocks effect. Too much, or too little, and you're sure to be disappointed. However, if you get it just right, you'll be golden! So, where is just right? Ideally, you want to aim for between 59 and 63 percent Relative Humidity (RH), and for temperatures, keep it below 70 degrees Fahrenheit (F).
Glass stash jars are often used as a popular choice for storing weed as they offer a range of benefits. Glass can be shatterproof, the containers come in a range of sizes, and the material is naturally smell proof.
Well, we know glass is a good choice when it comes to weed storage. But what about the lid? There are a few options here, but a great choice is cork. Used for thousands of years, cork does not absorb moisture, shrink or contract over time. This makes this natural material a perfect choice for ensuring an airtight seal for glass stash jars.
Here at TAG, we offer a selection of glass stash jars with cork lids in different sizes.
With a thickness of 5mm and an inner diameter of 1.75 inches, this TAG glass jar is perfect for your stash.
Are you looking for something wider? Then try the TAG 3.25-inch jar with 5mm thick glass.
The TAG large glass stash jar offers the same 5mm thickness, an 8-inch height and 2.5 inches inner diameter.
If you're looking for an airtight stash jar to keep your cannabis products fresh, look no further than TAG. Our selection of glass jars come in various sizes and colors so that you can find the perfect one for your needs. Plus, our jars are made with high-quality materials that will ensure your cannabis stays fresh and potent. Check out our selection today and find the perfect airtight stash jar for you.
]]>Whether it's a dome, carb cap, or dabber, your collection of pieces should be nothing short of quality, and below we will discuss the must-have dab accessories.
There's not much use in having a rig if you don't have any dab tools, so let's start with one of the best dab rig accessories. Dabbers or dab tools come in all shapes and sizes and while there is some variety among them, the common goal of all is to get your oil or concentrate into your rig. There are several different types that can get the job done, so it's up to you to decide what works best for you. The most common type of dabbers is the scoop, which has a wide bowl to fit plenty of concentrate.
Terp pearls, also known as terp balls or dab pearls, are tiny orbs you can insert into a banger. Their most common form is in a 4-6mm diameter sphere made of sapphire, ceramic, ruby, borosilicate glass, or quartz. Quartz terp balls are one of the best accessories for dab rigs because of their excellent flavor preservation and heat retention qualities. The best part is that they are easy to use - simply heat up your banger and add the terp pearl.
While you can get by without one, having a carb cap in your collection will take your Dab game to the next level! The term “carb” is short for “carburetor”, and the cap is so named because it fits over your nail like a car’s carburetor. When heated, carb caps reduce the vaporization point of oils to allow for more smoke creation. This occurs because the carb cap creates a vacuum that allows fluid to boil at lower temperature vapor. Carb caps are made of titanium or quartz, but be advised when picking any piece for Dabbing - you want to go with high-quality materials that won’t leach into your concentrate.
The Dab Torch is the heating source, so it's best to invest in a high-quality torch. We suggest looking at tabletop torches or handheld torches with refillable butane tanks, which give you maximum control over your heat levels. Be sure you do plenty of research with this one, as this must-have dab accessory can get pricey depending on the brand and model you choose.
The nail is where your concentrate goes, so you need to have something sturdy in quality - not necessarily expensive! There are several types of nails with different materials for heating, including titanium, quartz, ceramic, and glass. Glass nails are most common among people beginning to dab because of their low price, but most seasoned Dabbers like quartz nails for their durability and ease with regards to heat retention.
Dabbers have different opinions about whether or not they need screens, but some agree that it's a good idea to have some in your tool kit. Screens are not necessarily a common accessory for dabbing as they are only useful when dabbing full melt material that has plant matter. The dabber heats the nail, then places the screen on top (which already has oil on it) and the oil boils on the screen, the matter within the oil is caught by the screen.
Dab mats are a must-have dab accessory to have around the house. This is because many of the solvents used in making dabs tend to be quite sticky and difficult to clean up once spilled on a surface. Most mats are made of silicon and some even come with a suction cup to secure it more firmly on your tabletop. There are all kinds of mats out there, so grab one to protect your surfaces and to keep your rig safe - it's always better to be safe than sorry!

]]>Fear not! This bongs for beginners guide will cover a handful of bong tips for beginners, including how to smoke from a bong, the different types of bongs available, and how to choose the perfect one for your style and needs.
Keep reading to learn:
A bong, also known as a water pipe, is essentially a smoke filtration device used to consume various products.
When choosing the best bong to buy for beginners, your first and most important decision is what size bong to buy. Bongs vary in size from only a few inches up to two or three feet, and the size of the bong you choose will inform a number of things such as how you smoke it, how you store it, and how much of your resources it consumes at any one time.
If you need to be discreet with your smoking, then consider buying a smaller bong, but keep in mind that a smaller bong will deliver the smoke to your lungs much more rapidly, and the smoke will also be considerably hotter than if you were using a larger bong with additional cooling chambers.
On the other hand, larger bongs are generally more delicate and fragile, but they often include additional chambers for cooling the smoke and catching any ash that might otherwise end up inside the bong. Also, consider that larger bongs require more lung power as the smoke has to travel further before reaching you. So, if you have less than optimal lung function then a smaller bong may be your best bet.
Once you’ve chosen the size of your bong, then your next bong for beginners' decision is what type of bong to buy. There are numerous different types of bongs available on the market, and although they all do essentially the same thing, they all do it a little differently. Let’s look at some of the more common types of bongs and see why some people prefer one type over another.
Mini-bongs, as you may have guessed from the cryptic name, are small. However, don't let their tiny size fool you; mini-bongs are often the bong of choice for experienced smokers because they deliver the smoke to you the quickest, and often when the smoke reaches your lungs, it's still hot. For these reasons, a mini-bong may not be the best bong to buy for beginners. That said, the only way to learn is to practice, so if you want to smoke like a pro from day one, then a mini-bong could be a good way to go.
Beaker bongs offer a good balance of size, ease of use, and functionality. Typically shaped like a beaker, these bongs tend to be smaller to medium-sized and have some space for cooling the smoke without needing the lungs of Hercules in order to clear the chamber. There are tons of different designs ranging from simple science beaker-looking type bongs to elaborate beaker bongs with multiple chambers and attached accessories. So, if you're looking for a happy medium that you can grow with and expand upon, then a beaker bong might be one of the best bongs for beginners.
Straight tube bongs are one of the more popular water pipes on the market. These bongs are similar to beaker bongs in that they have space for multiple chambers and can be quite tall, with some of them reaching heights in excess of 2-3'. Straight tube bongs are infinitely customizable, but the larger ones require more lung capacity as the smoke has a long way to travel between the bowl and your lungs. That said, some straight tube bongs feature multiple cooling chambers, ensuring a cool, smooth toke when the smoke does arrive.
All bongs feature the same basic components; however, some bongs also have additional parts and accessories. As this is a bongs for beginners guide, we’ll stick to the ‘normal’ components that you’ll find on every bong. Just keep in mind that there are additional pieces that you'll see on some bongs, such as ice chambers and ash catchers. For now, just know that these things are nice to have, but you don’t really need them.
The water chamber is the main "body" of the bong. The idea is to add some water to the water chamber so as to cool the smoke as it passes from the bowl to the neck, where you'll eventually receive your toke.
The neck is the long piece of the bong where you inhale the smoke from. Different bongs have different size necks and, as such, require more or less lung power to get the smoke from the bowl to your lungs.
The downstem is the chamber that holds the bowl. Various bongs feature different downstem designs, but, generally speaking, they are all there to keep the bowl secure when you’re lighting your smoking material and to facilitate an easy removal of the bowl when you're ready to clear the chamber of smoke.
The bowl is where you place your smoking material. Typically, the bowl is removable so that you can clear the bong of smoke when you’re ready to empty the water chamber. There are various shapes and sizes of bowls, with larger bowls holding more material and smaller bowls holding less.
The actual process of smoking a bong is quite simple. You load your smoking material into the bowl and then place the bowl in the downstem. You then light your bowl while inhaling from the neck. The smoke will travel from the bowl, through the water chamber where it gets cooled, and then up the neck into your mouth and lungs. Once you have received enough smoke, you pull out the bowl, taking care not to dump your ash, and inhale the remaining smoke in the chamber, clearing the bong.
That’s really a matter of personal preference, but you can’t go wrong with a bong made by TAG as they are durable, stylish, and come in a variety of shapes and styles. Whether you're a new smoker or a seasoned veteran, you'll be able to find a bong you love from TAG.
]]>Bongs, also known as water pipes, are made in various ways. Some are simple, and others are more complex. But they all have one common goal: to deliver a smooth, flavorful hit. Nowadays, the art form and intricacies of glass bong making are becoming more appreciated, with the question often arising; how are glass bongs made? In this blog post, we'll look at how bongs are made and some of the different methods used. Stay tuned for more bong and water pipe education!
Although glass is the most popular choice for bongs, other materials that bongs can be made from include acrylic, glass, ceramic, or silicone. The reason glass is the most common is its superior performance, offering clean, pure smoke. And it's not just any glass that bongs are made from. The glass is a type known as borosilicate glass, which contains boron trioxide.
The choice of glass is important as it provides a far lower coefficient for thermal expansion, which – unlike standard glass – doesn't crack as easily with heat. This is grade A of glass quality and ideal for exposure to varying temperatures due to its durability.
The most basic bong consists of a chamber for water, a bowl for tobacco or herbs, and a stem that carries the smoke from the bowl to the chamber. The smoker inhales smoke from the chamber through a mouthpiece, where the smoke is filtered through the water before exhaling. This cooling and filtering process results in a smoother smoking experience. Some of the bongs and water pipes on the market even allow you to add ice, which further increases the smoothness of your smoke.
How Glass Bongs Are Made
Glass work has been around for a long time. Although always a respected trade, it's now a booming industry due to demand.
So how exactly do these master glass workers craft bongs? It turns out that how bongs are made from glass is a four-step process. (But please – don't try this at home!)
Glass workers begin with a pre-made glass tube which they place on a lathe. Once the glass tube is set, the tube is flared on one end. The glassworker then gathers glass to enclose the beaker bottom base. All the while, the glass must be kept turning to keep it symmetrical. This section will then have a hole added for the downstem to fit into.
The section above the water chamber is then turned into a larger cylinder with further heat applied. This provides a neck to the water chamber. This section will be heated and turned continuously until it is a uniform size ideal for the size of the glass chamber.
As the glassblower crafts the neck upwards, they will create the mouthpiece positioned at the top. Making the perfect mouthpiece requires further turning, as the glass is shaped and smoothed with no sharp edges – creating an ergonomic design.
Once the first three steps are complete, the main component of the bong is made. Next comes the removable pieces – the downstem and bowl. These are crafted by further heating and molding of the glass tubing. There are many tools that a glassblower may use to create the perfect bong accessories, which help to create intricate pieces for superior use.

]]>Unlike ordinary fixed stem straight tubes and other water pipes with only one chamber, a multi-chamber bong features two or more compartments. Also known as recyclers, multi-chamber glass bongs are made with some of the most creative designs, making them one of the most innovative and awe-inspiring oil rigs on the market. For example, Thick Ass Glass carries an exceptional 8 inch Super Slit Donut Sextuple Recycler with 6 chambers to provide a truly unique smoking experience.
As we mentioned, a multi-chamber bubbler bong is constructed with more than one chamber. Typically, budget-friendly pieces include two or three of these pockets, and more expensive multi-chamber acrylic bongs or glass bongs may have as much as 6 chambers like the Super Slit Recycler. Regardless of how many compartments are featured, however, these areas contain water which the smoke passes through once you ignite your tobacco. Each chamber in a multi-chamber water bong acts as a passageway that filters the smoke and eliminates harmful combustion byproducts. In turn, this makes each draw much smoother and easier on the lungs.
When you settle in for a smoke session with a multi-chamber bubbler bong, you should know that the process of inhaling your favorite product is more complicated than using a simple glass pipe. Before you fire up, make sure you refer to this handy step-by-step guide for using multi-chamber bongs:
If your bong contains two chambers, you can add hot water to one pocket and then fill the other with cold water for more effective filtration. If you decide to do this, the bottom chamber should be filled with hot water and cold water should be in the top chamber to ensure that each hit is refreshing.
From multi-chamber percolator bongs to other types of recyclers, cleaning a multi-chamber bong is much more complex than regular water pipes. But, don't stress — we're here to help. Here are five steps you can take at home to remove excess gunk from your multi-chamber bong:
Now that you know more about multi-chamber glass bongs, you may be considering adding one of these fine pieces to your collection of smoking apparatuses. Fortunately, Thick Ass Glass has you covered with many excellent options to choose from at the best values. When you're ready to make a purchase, check out our multi-chamber bongs or contact us today with any questions you may have. We look forward to helping you achieve the best smoking experience!
CONTACT USOkay, that came out a lot deeper than we meant it to. What we're talking about has more to do with your glass cache — and how you can grow it into something truly epic. Check out these ideas for fleshing out your collection with cool pipes, smoking accessories and more.
Even though this section isn't technically about water pipes or dab rigs, it's majorly important to having an organized smoke station, whether you're at home or on-the-go. There are tons of discreet carrying cases with stylish designs to help keep everything together. Some just look like a pencil pouch or makeup bag and would be great for storing any jars or containers you may have.
Speaking of containers, having glass jars to store your herbs or concentrates will go a long way toward keeping them fresh. Silicone containers are good options as well — they come in a variety of shapes and patterns, from a flat rectangle to a small sphere to an oil drum. These are essentials for proper storage that can go anywhere.
Going bold with color has been a big trend for water pipes and dab rigs recently. You might get punches of slime green on the mouthpiece or percolator or even have whole pipes that practically glow with color (and some that actually do). There are even some unique pipes out there that change color in UV light.
Dab rigs stand out when it comes to color. For example, our 8" Super Slit Donut Klein Incycler comes in colors like "Kiwi" and "Blue Stardust," making it a beautiful piece whether it's bubbling away or waiting on a shelf for next time. Even micro dab rigs seem larger than life when they're neon pink! Big or small, unique pipes will always stand out in your collection — and make your collection stand out as well.
While classic straight tube and beaker base pipes will never go out of style, there's no denying that unique pipes with lots of bells and whistles can be more eye-catching.
One truly awesome pipe is our 8" Super Slit Donut Sextuple Recycler, which has six recycler funnel chambers that recycle the water back into the main chamber to provide better diffusion, flavor and some show-stopping waterworks. It's a sight to behold when it really gets going. And we'd be crazy not to mention how cool a Faberge egg rig looks, even when you aren't using it: a true aficionado of cool pipes wouldn't miss having one in their collection.
One thing worth mentioning is that the fancy stuff is usually better suited for smokers who know what they're doing. If you're a beginner, stick with the classics — you don't want to invest in an expensive, albeit great-looking, pipe only to have it break a few weeks after it arrives.
All these trends are moot if you don't choose quality pieces. Luckily, you never have to worry about that at Thick Ass Glass. All our water pipes, dab rigs and smoking accessories are made of thick glass and other high-quality materials that perform perfectly and are built to last. Add one of our unique smoke pipes to your collection today.
]]>How to Store a Bong: In an Active Household
First of all, if you have an active household, be it friends, roommates, or pets, it’s almost always safest not to leave anything out that could break. If you really want to make your glass last, you need to have some storage solutions. That could be one large trunk or cabinet where you store everything or many smaller storage spaces around the house where you might want to use your pieces. Personally, I like to use both strategies. As your collection grows, keeping all your pieces safe can become a challenge. Try out some of my strategies to help your collection last while you’re building it up!
How to Store a Bong: One Large Space
Typically, I like to keep one big storage space that is completely out of the way for items I don’t use often. In my large storage area, I keep my large water pipes that I use for special occasions, older pieces I don’t use often but I don’t want to get rid of, empty glass jars and other containers, seasonal pieces, and spare parts including extra slides, old quartz nails, and extra dab tools that have accumulated over the years. Wherever you live, I’m sure you can find some out of the way area for safe storage.
Whether this be some dedicated space in a closet, a cabinet, or a trunk, make sure it won’t be bumped or knocked around. You never know what will happen if your glass gets knocked against each other. Whatever you use, you’re going to need to give some thought to how you organize the area, because just throwing all your glass into the same spot can be riskier than just leaving it out! You’ll need to think not only about how everything will sit when it’s all put away and left alone but also about how easily you can access each piece without disturbing another. In other words, if you’re going to have small water pipes all together in an area, can you grab one from the back without knocking over any of the pieces in front of it? Try to keep your storage space organized so pieces can be easily removed for use. To make this easiest, I typically store my pieces in order of height with the shortest pieces in front and the tallest pieces in back. Although, I lay my tall water pipes down and wrap them in a towel for a little extra cushion, because they are top heavy and generally in the biggest danger of tipping over and breaking.
You’ll have to decide what works best for your space, but typically, I like to store my pieces in groupings of similar pieces. For spare slides, nails, and containers, I keep each in a designated smaller container within the larger storage area. This way, I can pull out my whole collection at once and pick exactly the one I want without having to search too much. I use the same system for my pipe collection, but I keep each individual pipe either in a container or wrapped in something soft. Then, I store the individually wrapped pipes in a plastic container or basket. Grouping your collection and keeping everything in specified containers will help keep everything safe, organized, and easily accessible!
How to Store a Bong: Within Arm's Reach
Are you thinking to yourself, “This sounds like an inconvenience for something I use all the time anyway”? Well, storing doesn’t have to be such an inconvenience, and there’s nothing wrong with keeping your favorite pieces in an arm’s reach. For instance, my favorite water pipe has a wide base and is very stable, so I’m not too worried about it getting knocked over. To keep it safe, I have made a small area between my couch, a side table, and the wall where my water pipe fits perfectly. This way, it stays safe, but I can still grab it while sitting on the couch and be ready to go whenever I want!
I also keep a few quick grab drawers around the house for ease of access. It’s safest to keep your glass separated from anything else in the drawer whether you do that by keeping it in a container or case, so be sure to keep these drawers organized as well. If you don’t have drawers, you could always use the same ideas and put a towel in a small basket and store your go-to pipes there. Keeping your glassware put away will keep your glass safer and helps prevent your house from getting too cluttered without sacrificing the convenience of having what you want at your fingertips!
How to Store a Bong: Your Favorite Pieces
With your favorite or most expensive pieces I recommend taking more precautions. I keep my favorite pieces separately from the rest of my glassware where nothing can fall on them or even accidentally bump it. If you can afford it, a special case is always the safest option. This can be expensive though, and with the increasing diversity of water pipes on the market it can be hard to find a case that fits some of the more unique water pipes. So, sometimes you’re going to have to improvise. As long as you can keep it in something with a hard exterior where it won’t be accidentally bumped it should be safe but be mindful of what could happen. Although, if you’re willing to put in the extra work, you can make a custom case for any water pipe for cheap!
Keeping your pieces stored and organized will make your glass last longer and can make it easier to find the pieces of your collection you want when you want them! Hopefully you’ve gotten some ideas here on how manage your collection. Check back in March for an article describing how you can custom design your own protective cases for your glass for cheap!
]]>Today, we’re delving into why e-nails for dab rigs are a match made in heaven and what to look for when purchasing your new electronic nail.
First things first: You probably know what a dab rig is. But let’s just run through the basics for a quick refresher.
A dab rig is a type of water pipe that’s designed specifically for smoking oils, legal concentrates, wax or honey. It features a dab nail instead of a traditional bowl piece. With a dab rig, you heat the concentrate of your choice on the dab nail to vaporize it.
An e-nail is a vaporization device that offers a steady temperature for vaporizing concentrates. It typically comes in the form of a small box and fits over the nail. The device’s metal coil gets heated through the use of electricity, and buttons on it allow users to have more control over the temperature of the concentrate.
While using a torch to heat your dab rig to high temperatures is super easy, you literally have zero control over the process. And when you’re using an oil rig, temperature consistency is key. If your device is too cold, you’ll get little to no vapor, and your oil or concentrate will pool at the base of your nail. If your device is too hot, you’ll wind up with a rip that smells and tastes like hot, melting plastic—nobody wants that.
To combat these undesirable smoking experiences, many smokers opt to use e-nails with their dab rigs. An electronic nail is the most precise temperature control method on the market, making it easier to tell when you’ve reached your desired temperature than when using a standard torch. E-nails are perfect because they allow you to take low-temperature rips without having to wait for the nail to cool down. In addition to this, an electronic nail can also be much cheaper than a torch since it relies on electricity and not butane or other lighter fluids that often run out.
There are four key things to look for when shopping for your new electronic nail. To make sure you’ll get the most out of your smoking experience, keep these things in mind when deciding.
When shopping for your new e-nail, you’ll see that prices can run from $20 to $600. The amount you’ll pay is entirely based on your needs. While you may not want to buy a cheap, low-quality e-nail, you also don’t want to drop a month’s rent payment on one either. Good news. There’s a sweet spot when it comes to prices. You can find an electronic nail that is affordable but still offers you a quality rip. So, go for one that works with your style.
Portability is obviously a major factor when buying. If smoking with your dab rig means that you’ll have to haul a bunch of equipment around, you’re going to end up being annoyed a majority of the time. When shopping for your new e-nail, make sure it’s travel-ready and easy to use on the go. Most will come with a carrying case that will protect your e-nail and related equipment, making it more than easy to transport.
Customization options can take your electronic nail to the next level. Just be sure that the e-nail you’re considering is compatible with your current dab rig. You’ll also want to make sure that it will work with a variety of dab nail types, from titanium to ceramic to quartz. This gives you all the customization options you’ll need to change it up if you feel like it.
Last, but not least, you’ll want to make sure you get an e-nail that is durable and reliable. Part of this is choosing a device that’s easy to clean. You’ll want to clean your device after each use. Keeping your device and accessories in mint condition will help ensure a long lifespan.
At Thick Ass Glass, we have a wide variety of dab rigs, e-nail accessories and more to choose from. Have a question or need more information? Shoot us an email at info@thickassglass.com. We’re happy to help!
]]>Pay attention to what they want
The first thing you should ask yourself when searching for the perfect Valentine's Day gift for a smoker is, “What do they want?”. This seems obvious, but it’s often forgotten when you find something perfect for you. Well, this time you aren’t shopping for yourself. Try to think back to what you’ve seen them get excited about. It can be hard to remember everything when you’re on the search for the perfect gift, so in the future, I’d recommend writing those moments down to make sure you know exactly what to get your significant other when the time comes again.
Your significant other hasn’t given you any obvious hints like that? Well, that’s ok too. It can be a bit more difficult without explicit hints, but if pay attention to what their favorite smoking options are you can still find the perfect gift! Here are some questions to ask yourself when trying to find the perfect gift. Are they a concentrate connoisseur? Is there anything their collection is obviously lacking? Do they have a favorite piece you could improve? Your gift doesn’t have to be a completely new stand-alone piece, and in fact, if they already have a piece they love and use all the time, your gift is sure to be used more if you get an accessory for their favorite piece rather than something that will have to compete with it. Bellow, we’ll discuss all these options and point out some great selections from TAG that may be that perfect gift you’ve been searching for!
Dabber
If you’re shopping for a concentrate connoisseur or daily dabber, my first piece of advice would be to look at their dab station. Is there anything obviously missing that you could fill in? A non-stick mat is a must for any properly assembled dab station, and it’ll save you endless cleanup from sizzling concentrates. Do they have enough silicone containers to keep all their favorite concentrates protected? If their nail is getting old or just on the lower quality end, consider getting them a nice new quartz banger or a honey bucket! Whether you decide to get them a new nail or if they already have a nice one, make sure they have a good carb cap too. Another often overlooked gift is a dab tool. This is sure to be used often, and a beautiful dab tool can really bring together a dab station!
If you feel like spending big this year and getting them a new rig, try to think about it from their point of view. What do they find to be most important in a rig, beauty or functionality? If they lean more towards beauty and you’ve got a bit more to spend, check out the Chris Schuler Sacred Geometry collection to find beautifully worked glass! If they lean more towards function over form, TAG’s got you covered here too. Check out the TAG - 6.5" Super Slit Froth Puck Rig 100x5MM - 14MM Male for a small piece that packs a punch! If they want something a bit larger, consider the or the TAG - 10" Bent Neck Matrix Diffuser 5MM (14MM Female). If they’re into simplicity, check out the TAG - 7.5" BENT NECK FIXED 6 HOLE PUCK DIFFUSER 55X5MM - 14MM MALE, or, if they prefer more unique pieces, look into the TAG - 8.25" HAMMER HEAD PERC SIDE CAR - 50X7MM - 14MM FEMALE. Wherever their preferences lie, you’re sure to find the perfect gift for the dabber in your life at TAG.
Expand their collection with a piece that they’ll love!
If your significant other is working on expanding their collection, find something they don’t already have that will add something unique to their collection! For this, I’d recommend scrolling through TAG’s selection yourself since you know best what your significant other wants. Here are some ideas to get you started though. If they need a show stopper, check out the TAG - 21" SEXTUPLE (6) HONEYCOMB WATER PIPE - 7MM for a large, beautiful waterpipe with an amazing amount filtration without adding much resistance! If this is out of your price range, but you still want a waterpipe, check out the TAG - 12" BEAKER 50X9MM - 18/14MM DOWNSTEM (4.25") (SUPER THICK) for a classic look with nice, thick glass! If you think they’d prefer something with more filtration though, maybe something like the TAG - 15" BENT NECK DOUBLE INTERIOR HONEYCOMB WITH SPINNING SPLASH GUARD would better suit them. Maybe they don’t need a new water pipe at all, but they don’t have a bubbler in their collection. For a great bubbler, check out the TAG - 14" TRIPLE RATCHET BUBBLER 65X5MM (18MM FEMALE)! If they’re covered on their water filtered options, maybe look into a spoon or sherlock to give them an easy go to option for smaller hits. Whatever they need though, make sure you spend some time looking through all the options at TAG to make sure you pick the right one for the one who means so much to you!
Do they already have a favorite water pipe?
There’s no need to try to compete if they already have something they love and constantly want to use. Instead of a completely new piece, get them an ash catcher to add some filtration to it! If they already have an ash catcher, or if it’s just over your price range, consider picking up a new slide! A bowl with a built-in screen can really make your life easier and can help your waterpipe stay clean for longer! Make sure you get the right size though. There’s nothing more disappointing than realizing your gift won’t work after you give it to them, so be sure to pay attention to the details!
Wherever your significant other’s preferences lie, you’re sure to find the perfect Valentine's Day gift for your favorite smoker at TAG. Just remember, what makes it the perfect gift is putting enough thought into the gift to get what they want! Once you’ve picked out the perfect piece for your significant other, consider staging a romantic set up to surprise them with their beautiful new piece! If you went for a water pipe, stick a rose in it and use it as a vase when you stage your gift to give them a romantic surprise when you give it to them! Whatever you choose, we at TAG hope your significant other loves it and wish you a happy Valentine’s day!
]]>When it isn't in use
In my experience, most broken bongs and pieces occur when they aren’t even being used! This is a travesty and completely avoidable if you just put them away when you’re done. You don’t have to keep an elaborate storage system, just somewhere out of the way of traffic where they won’t be bumped or knocked over. If you don’t have an overly active household, this may be as simple as finding a lightly trafficked area, and you may even be able to get away with leaving sturdy pieces in out of the way areas. This is still risky even with the most stable water pipes, but, if you want the convenience, you can still limit the risk of a broken bong by keeping a designated place on a stable surface in a lightly trafficked area. If you have pets, clumsy roommates, or frequent house guests though, I would recommend finding a safer enclosed area like a closet or cabinet to keep your glass safe. Leaving out your glass may be convenient, but it’s just nonsensical to let a piece break while you aren’t using it. Keeping my glass put away has made the biggest difference in helping my collection stand the test of time and can save you countless dollars replacing your glassware.
When it’s in rotation
Another risk prone time is when you’re using your glass. Now, of course, that is what you got it for, and it’s supposed to be a time to relax, so it’s easy to let your guard down. I don’t know about you, but for me, the sound of shattering glass pulls me out of any relaxation. Make sure everyone in rotation is paying attention while they exchange the piece and using two hands when necessary! Alternatively, if you are using a larger water pipe that is stable and convenient to use on a table, ask your friends to go to the pipe instead of passing your fragile glass around. If you have a tabletop piece, you’re introducing unnecessary risk by passing it around the living room. For the same reasons, try to avoid transporting your glass if possible. Transporting your glassware also introduces unnecessary risk, so I like to keep around a cheap option to transport so I won’t be too upset if something happens.
Also, there’s nothing wrong with reminding friends to handle your glass with care. It may be a bit annoying to remind people often, but it could also save you money in the long run. If it gets too bad with a friend, try to keep metal or silicone options around or try to get them to take responsibility for their carelessness by asking them to replace what they broke. In my experience, this will make friends take being careful with your glass much more seriously, and if they’re constantly breaking your glass this conversation may help relieve some of the strain on your friendship.
Cleaning
Perhaps the most disappointing time to break your glass pieces is while your cleaning them. There’s just something about breaking a piece you’re trying to restore to its former glory that feels extra defeating. So, be gentle while you clean. Some stains might require some elbow grease but be sure to use caution while applying pressure to your glass. If possible, I prefer to use cleaners that require less intense scrubbing and that can get the stains off those difficult to reach areas. I generally wouldn’t recommend using a metal tool to scrape out any residues. Instead, you can add some salt to your cleaner as an abrasive, seal the openings of your glass, and shake. Make sure you have a good hold on your piece and that there is nothing you could hit your glass on while shaking it though.
As a side note, if you want to clean your water pipe on a soft surface, make sure your water pipe is stable on it first. I broke my first water pipe while cleaning it because I thought I was being safe by putting it on a soft bath mat. Unfortunately, my top-heavy water pipe wasn’t stable on the bath mat, and when it fell over, it was just slightly longer than the mat. Ever since this, I carefully hold onto my water pipes while I clean them and only set them down on stable countertops, and I recommend you do the same.
In short:
Sure, accidents do happen, and glass is fragile, but by exercising some caution and taking control of the situation you can really limit the risk of breaking your pieces in the future! For those times when accidents do happen, you can always purchase the TAG 2 Year Warranty, and we’ll have your back against the uncontrollable! If you purchase the TAG 2 Year Warranty, just let us know if something happens and we’ll replace your piece for free! Hopefully this article has given you some ideas on how to make your glass last and take control of the unforeseen. Now that you feel more comfortable, pick out that next piece and expand your collection!
]]>Water Pipe vs Dry Pipe
Pros
Water pipes come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes each with their own benefits and drawbacks, but generally, there are three main benefits to water pipes over dry pipes. First of all, water pipes by definition are water filtered. This means some of the tar and heat will be pulled out of what you’re inhaling making the hits smoother and easier on your lungs. Coming with the territory of making the smoke smoother, water pipes allow you to take larger hits. Depending on what you’re looking for, this may be a pro or a con, but with some filtration you can produce much larger draws. Finally, water pipes tend to have more wow factor than the average dry pipe. There’s just something beautiful about a glass water pipe.
Cons
On the other hand, producing larger hits means that you’re going to burn through your product faster. So, if conservation is a concern, a water pipe might not be what you’re looking for. It’s just harder to take small hits from a water pipe than a dry pipe. Since water pipes must have a water chamber, they are generally larger than dry pipes. So, if you need to be inconspicuous, a water pipe isn’t your friend. The larger size also makes them more difficult to transport than dry pipes. So if you want something you can bring around with you, I wouldn’t recommend a water pipe. This extra chamber also makes cleaning water pipes a bit more difficult than dry pipes since you can’t get direct access to all the inside parts. In summary, water pipes provide larger, smoother hits, but this generally comes with added size and lack of portability.
Dry Pipes vs Water Pipes
Pros
Like water pipes, dry pipes come in all kinds of shapes and sizes. While they can also be intricate works of art, most dry pipes just don’t bring the same wow factor as water pipes. Instead, they tend to be smaller and more portable. Being smaller also makes dry pipes easier to protect than water pipes. You can just tuck them in your pocket and be careful, but it’s easy to find a cheap, effective case that protects your dry pipe at much less cost than a comparative case for a water pipe. It’s also easier to take small hits from a dry pipe. So, if you prefer to smoke like a hummingbird, taking a little bit at a time, a dry pipe may be perfect for you! If you’re concerned about conserving your product, this can really help. On top of all this, dry pipes tend to be cheaper than water pipes. Considering all these factors, I think a dry pipe makes an ideal first piece if you’re just starting your collection!
Cons
If you’re looking for something to take huge hits from, a dry pipe probably isn’t what you’re looking for. While some out there may be able to do this, the unfiltered smoke can be quite harsh, making it difficult and even painful to take large hits. Aside from this though, there really aren’t many other negatives to dry pipes. If simplicity, portability, and ease of use are your concerns, a dry pipe might be the perfect next piece for you!
Conclusion
Ultimately though, it really comes down to your preference. Personally, I’ve gotten so used to filtered smoke, I have a hard time going back to using dry pipes as my daily piece. I do still rely on a dry pipe if I am going somewhere, making it an important part of my collection, but my general preference lies more toward water pipes. Hopefully though, this helps you figure out which you may prefer. The only way to know for sure is to give both a shot and really test your own preferences!
]]>Understand that percolators aren’t necessary when using water pipes or dab rigs (a type of water pipe), though they have become pretty standard in the smoking community. Those who use a water pipe are often looking for a smoother smoking experience. A percolator works by cooling down the smoke even more—making this process even better.
A dab rig is all about isolating and enjoying the flavor. A water pipe makes the smoking process smoother. Both devices can be made even better with a percolator.
When shopping for a percolator, you should consider the level of diffusion you’re looking to get out of your smoking experience. The following are some of the most popular models on the market:
An ash catcher sits in the downstem of the water pipe and can be used in addition to a percolator. This attachment is specially designed to capture debris and it keeps both ash and resin from entering your water pipe or dab rig. Ash catchers use water to filter the ash out of the water pipe prior to smoking through the device. This helps clean and maintain the water pipe, so you’ll be able to use it for a long time. Many ash catchers are also designed to percolate the smoke.
Did you know that Thick Ass Glass ash catchers can actually be converted into standalone mini water pipes! The following are a few of our most popular models:

]]>The straight tube water pipe is probably the simplest water pipe design out there — a single straight tube with a downstem, an opening up top for you to inhale the smoke and, most of the time, a carb hole. Some straight tube pipes will have a built-in percolator while others simply receive their percolation from the downstem. Either way, you only need to add your water, pack your tobacco or herbs into your bowl and enjoy! The simplicity is a major straight tube water pipe benefit.
This is a question that all comes down to preference. Straight tubes create a single straight channel to your mouth, which reduces drag and makes inhaling the smoke quick and easy. Because they're so simple to use, they make great water pipes for smokers who are just starting out. For group settings, a beaker base might be the preferred option due to its larger base, which is less likely to tip over compared to a straight glass pipe with a smaller base diameter. When buying a water pipe, consider whether you'll be using it with friends or just by yourself and, of course, your level of smoking experience in order to maximize your water pipe's benefits.
No matter what shape or size of water pipe you're looking for, TAG has you covered. A Thick Ass Glass straight tube water pipe will give you the high-quality smoking sessions you crave while being durable enough to stand the test of time. Check out the whole collection today!
]]>In the US, “bigger is better” seems to be a consistent theme, but this is not always the case with water pipes. If all you care about is having a massive piece that commands attention, then sure, go big or go home. A big piece is fun to break out with a group of friends, and it can make any celebration a special occasion. As you increase the size of a water pipe, the volume of smoke that pipe can hold increases as well. So, with a big water pipe, you can produce massive hits, but you’ll burn through a lot more and it’s likely to take multiple hits to fully clear the smoke. This may or may not be a problem, but if it’s so large you can’t reach the bowl to light it, then you’re restricting your use to when you have helping hands. This can make for a fun group activity but may not be the best option for personal use. Though bong size does matter, if you’re looking for the most functional piece, you might find yourself disappointed if you only consider size.
Instead of focusing solely on size, consider other factors like the filtration mechanism, an ice catcher, or the convenience of use. I’ve always been more satisfied with my pieces when I consider functionality as well as aesthetics. I do enjoy having big pieces in my collection, but they get used less often than others I selected based on function over form. Also, the chances of breaking a piece of glass increase as it gets taller. Tall pieces can easily become top heavy and are then prone to being knocked over. In my experience, no matter how thick the glass is, if a piece over two feet tall falls, there’s going to be enough force to break it in the center. Nobody likes to think about their beautiful water pipes breaking but considering this beforehand can save some heartache. After this happened with my first and second showstopper pieces, I started focusing much more on function and durability over the size and beauty. Of course, there are always some occasions bong size does matter, and it makes a great addition to a collection. I wouldn’t recommend this being the only water pipe you own though.
Small water pipes may not command the attention of a room like a 3-foot-tall tower of glass, but they do have their advantages. For one, it gets inconvenient to use a massive piece every time you want to smoke a bowl. A tall water pipe is just too much of a liability to leave out, especially if you have pets. It could easily fall over and break. Tipping over is less of a concern with smaller pieces though. Considering the ratio of the diameter of the base to the height of the water pipe offers a good idea of the general stability of the piece. The larger the base diameter to height ratio, generally, the more stable it will be. Smaller pieces are also more convenient to use. They can be more easily stored and pulled out with less of a hassle. If you’re using the water pipe to dab, then a smaller rig will help to keep the vapor concentrated, since it can’t expand as much as it would in a larger water pipe. Keeping the vapor concentrated gives better flavor while using less concentrate. So, depending on how you want to use it, smaller can be better.
When selecting the size of your water pipe be sure to consider what you want from it. If you’re looking for a piece to dominate the table and command the attention of anyone who sees it, then you’ll want to look at a larger water pipe. If you want something easier to use on a day to day basis though, you may be more interested in a smaller option. When selecting a piece, I often narrow my selection first by size to help find the right piece for what I want. Whatever you’re looking for in a new water pipe, remember, it all comes down to how you use it.
]]>To put snow in your bong, you’ll want to first put some water in to make sure your percolator fires. Then, simply drop loose snow in your bong through the mouth piece. Its best to avoid packing the snow down because this can restrict the airflow, making it impossible to hit, or even scratch the glass. The beauty of using snow to cool your smoke is the amount of surface area loosely packed snow has. Smoke is cooled by coming into contact with a cold surface. Loading loosely packed snow into your water pipe, the smoke will filter through small gaps in the snow making contact with the cold snow all the way through. This is a massive improvement over ice cubes, where the smoke only touches the outside of the ice cube. Using crushed ice is an improvement over ice cubes, but with snow the smoke will touch every snowflake on the way through making your smoke not just cool, but down right cold!
Cooling with snow is great for a water pipe, but I wouldn’t recommend trying this with dabbing. You may have noticed that your rig builds up more reclaim during the winter months. That’s because there is such a thing as cooling your concentrate vapor too much, and you can even cause a whole dab to condense if you get the vapor too cold. I have seen an entire dab freeze up in the middle of a freezable coil chamber, and not only is this a disappointing waste, but it is a pain to clean! Avoid this disappointment and be sure not to cool down your concentrate too much.
Also, this should only be done with pipes you won’t mind ending up scratched. Whenever you pick up some snow its likely there will be small particles in it that may scratch your glass. So, I never do this with my nicer pieces that I want to keep shining like the day I got them. Instead, I use one of my cheaper, every day pieces, or, if you have one, a silicone water pipe would be perfect for this! Whatever you use, be sure to rinse your water pipe well soon after to get rid of anything that might have been in the snow. Nobody wants to use a water pipe full of dirt and grime.
Snowed in? Then reach outside, pack your water pipe with snow, and curl up to celebrate the weather! A snow packed water pipe is sure to provide some fun when you’re trapped inside on those cold, dreary winter days!
]]>Silicone vs. Glass Bongs Pros
When you think about it, all a water pipe needs is a base that holds water with a tube into the water, so silicone can function just as well as glass in that right, and silicone pieces certainly have some benefits over glass. Perhaps the largest benefit of silicone is its durability. Silicone has been deemed unbreakable. If you’re someone who breaks any piece they so much as look at, a silicone water pipe might be perfect for you! You can drop it, pack it anywhere, and even fold it up and your silicone will simply flop back into position! The pliability and durability of silicone makes it wildly portable. If you want a water pipe you can take with you camping, then look no further than a silicone pipe. You can just throw it in your bag and go without having to worry about being gentle or packing carefully around it. For me, this is the reason I have to have a silicone piece for my collection. I’ve never been able to enjoy a water pipe while camping because I just couldn’t accept the high probability of breaking my glass. So, I always just brought one of my small glass pipes that are easier to protect, but now a silicone water pipe has become a must on the packing list for any outdoor excursion I go on! Moreover, silicone is non-polar, so resin is less likely to stick to it than glass. This will make cleaning silicone easier than glass, but there are other issues with cleaning silicone we will consider below.
Silicone vs. Glass Bongs Cons
While silicone pieces have their benefits, there are drawbacks that ensure silicone will never fully take over my glass cabinet. First and foremost, but perhaps not most important in the grand scheme of things, a silicone piece will never be as beautiful as a sparkling, clean glass piece. Working with silicone just isn’t the same artform that working with glass is. Aesthetics aside though, there are other issues with silicone. For one, some people think there is an unpleasant taste associated with silicone pieces, and even speculate that it could be unhealthy. While there is sometimes an unpleasant taste, it is unlikely the silicone itself poses any medical issues as it is very stable and high-quality silicone is commonly used in implants.
Another place where silicone pieces fall short of glass is in the possible percolators. Silicone does not lend itself to some of the complicated percolators we enjoy in glass pieces. Moreover, even if these complicated percolators could be achieved with silicone, you wouldn’t be able to see them. Some have tried to get around this by making hybrid pieces with a glass percolator but a silicone base and mouthpiece. Although, these hybrid pieces are far from unbreakable. Another issue with being unable to see the percolator or the inside of the piece is that it will be hard to tell when it needs cleaned. Conversely, when you are cleaning, it will be difficult to tell when your piece is clean. This means you could be leaving chunks of resin that are contaminated with whatever cleaning product you use in your pipe. So, with silicone, be extra careful not to leave solvent in it after cleaning as this could be harmful or toxic if inhaled. So, be sure to rinse your piece thoroughly (5 or more times!) and let it sit for at least an hour if not longer before use after cleaning.
So, silicone probably won’t run the glass market out of business, but it does improve over glass in some categories. If you have butterfingers or just need a durable water pipe you can pack up and take with you, silicone might be perfect for you! For this reason, I fancy myself a glass collector, but even I want a silicone piece in my collection!

Essential oils are extracts taken from flowers, fruits, roots and other plant matter. They are highly concentrated and have a variety of health benefits, including helping to reduce inflammation, improve skin health, get rid of headaches and more. They're most commonly used in aromatherapy to help treat everyday issues. For example, peppermint oil can give you an energy boost while, on the opposite end of the spectrum, lavender can help calm you down.
Here are some of the most popular essential oils for smoking:
NOTE: Essential oils are not meant to be smoked on their own. They're meant to help enhance the experience of smoking concentrates, herbs and other substances. There are a few ways you can use essential oils for smoking.
Ingesting essential oils aromatically is a great way to experience their full effects. Adding a few drops directly to your concentrates in order to smoke them will help them be absorbed into your body via your lungs. From there, they will be circulated throughout your body to work their natural magic.
When the vapor from your concentrates passes through water mixed with essential oils, it delivers an extra-flavorful experience. If you want your concentrates to have a fruitier flavor, try adding grapefruit, lemon or wild orange oil. If you want a smooth, minty fresh hit each time, add peppermint oil. Smoking to unwind? Add lavender or chamomile to create a more soothing effect.
To create a more subtle experience, you could also simply rub the essential oils inside the neck of your dab rig. You'll get pleasant aromas and a bit of extra flavor each time without altering the base flavors of your concentrates as much.
I first learned what a J-hook was about a year after breaking my first real waterpipe. It’s a little silly, but this waterpipe held a lot of sentimental value. It was my first statement piece and I went all out including decking it out with a few ash catchers. Some of my best friends and I bonded over it and really solidified life long friendships around this thing. Then, one fateful night it tipped over in my sleep breaking all but the ash catcher. We were devastated. We even had a funeral for it! After that, the ash catcher just sat collecting dust for over a year.
When I first realized what a J-hook was, I knew it could revitalize this great piece of glass that I’d nearly forgotten about! I grabbed it and a keck clip to hold the combo together and ran straight home to dust off the old ash catcher. Not only did this put my ash catcher back in use, but it quickly became the favorite bubbler in my collection! It offered more elaborate filtration than my other simple bubblers along with a clean, clear aesthetic and the nostalgia from my long-lost piece! Everyone was ecstatic to see it back in rotation, and I still love it years after.
Are you just looking for a new bubbler that’ll stand out in your collection or want to get more out of that ash catcher for your water pipe? A J-hook is great for that too! You can pop a sherlock arm onto any ash catcher and make a great, handheld bubbler. This allows you to be more selective and get a bubbler with your favorite percolator. Just make sure you pick up a keck clip too to hold it all together so you J-hook doesn’t slip off and break. If you want to get a whole new set up look into the TAG - 8.25" DOUBLE HONEYCOMB ASH CATCHER W/ RECYCLING E.C. 50X5MM - 18MM MALE, a compatible 18MM J-hook, and a keck clip to hold it all together for a great new bubbler with a flat base that can stand up but fits comfortably in your hand!
Whatever your situation is, a J-hook makes a great addition to any glass collection. If you’ve got multiple ash catchers you can switch the J-hook between them or pick your favorite and make a dedicated stand-alone bubbler! Whether you’re resurrecting an old ash catcher or looking for the right new bubbler I’d recommend considering a J-hook.
