When I contacted the company via their website I received a succinct, prompt honest and helpful reply, albeit impersonal. I was looking for a particular combination the the staff feedback set me on the right course. I selected two sale items to work together, and do they ever!
To be fair I haven't had any glass in 30 years and had some catching up do do. After a little experimentation I was ready for an upgrade for a medium sized daily driver.
While adding an ash catcher adds weight and potential clutter to the main piece, it borders on essential, especially when research reveals that fritted disc percs are challenging to clean. A double honeycomb recycling ash catcher adds both additional filtration and protection for the Maine piece, in my case a 13" bent neck single fritted disc (and I'll let that autocorrect typo ride as I live in Maine...). Very little material makes it past the ash catcher keeping the main piece quite clean (which is crystal clear, no color or paint/logo anywhere). While costing nearly as much as the piece itself, I'll go as far to say the investment is crucial!
All the glass and joints are crystal clear, shipping was remarkably speedy and discrete, it's nice to support an American business that balances quality and pricing.
I'm not a fan of the TAG tag but so be it, the ash catcher shines bereft of it and the bent neck sports the logo sandblasted. Shopping sales one must select and settle for what's available, and after some staff feedback…
